Monel nickel-copper alloy K-500 mechanical properties

Monel K-500 combines the excellent corrosion resistance of Monel 400 with the added benefits of greater strength and hardness. Performance can be improved by adding aluminum and titanium to the nickel-copper matrix and by heating under controlled conditions to cause submicroscopic particles of Ni3 (Ti, Al) to precipitate throughout the matrix. The heat treatment used to achieve precipitation is often called age hardening or aging.

application
Typical applications for Monel Alloy K-500 products are chains and cables, fasteners and springs for marine services; pump and valve components for chemical processing; scrapers and scrapers for pulp processing in paper production; for petroleum applications Well drill collars and instruments, pump shafts and impellers, non-magnetic housings, safety lifts and valves for and natural gas production; as well as sensors and other electronic components.
