Stainless Steel 310/310S is an austenitic high temperature alloy with very high nickel and chromium content for increased resistance to rust at mild cycling factors to 2000°F. ASTM A312 310 Seamless Pipe offers the same corrosion resistance, high metabolic resistance, and the ability to store more energy at room temperature than popular austenitic alloys such as Type 304.
SS 310 ERW Pipe is often used in the cryogenic range and has excellent toughness up to -450°F and low magnetic permeability. Rust Inhibiting Higher chromium content, designed to improve high temperature performance, also gives these 310 Stainless Steel Welded Pipes very good resistance to water corrosion. PRE is about 25 and seawater resistance is about 22°C, very similar to grade 316. In high temperature service 310 Stainless Steel Welded Pipes have good resistance to oxidizing and carburizing atmospheres. Resistant to fuming nitric acid at room temperature and molten nitrates up to 425°C.
The material comes in ASTM A312 and A358 specifications. The dimensions depend on the ASTM, ASME and API standards. The 1.4436 seamless pipes range in nominal bore sizes from ½ inches to 16 inches. The Stainless Steel 310 Seamless Pipe is drawn from a single billet of the material and is used in accurate applications where the dimensions have to be precise. The ASTM A312 TP310 welded pipes range from ½ inches to 24 inches and the electric fusion welded pipes range from 6 inches to 100 inches. The pipes come in single random, double random and in custom length sizes.
