What is the difference between 304 and 904L stainless steel plate ?

1. Different performance: 304 is an austenitic stainless steel, which is the most commonly used stainless steel, and the national standard grade is 06Cr19Ni10. 904 is a martensitic stainless steel, and the national standard grade is 1Cr12.
2. Different hardness: 304 has better corrosion resistance and toughness than 904, while 904 is a hardenable stainless steel with a higher hardness after quenching.
3. Different content: 304 stainless steel contains about 8% nickel, while 904l does not contain nickel.
904L is a completely austenitic structure. Compared with austenitic stainless steel with a high molybdenum content, 904L is not sensitive to the precipitation of ferrite and α phase. 304 is a general-purpose stainless steel, which is widely used in the manufacture of equipment and parts that require good comprehensive performance (corrosion resistance and formability).
In order to maintain the inherent corrosion resistance of stainless steel, the steel must contain more than 18% chromium and more than 8% nickel.

Founded in 2008, GNEE is a company that specializes in the production of stainless steel, duplex steel, super duplex steel, high temperature alloys, corrosion resistant alloys, non-ferrous metals (nickel, titanium, zirconium), and alloy flanges, B-plates, etc. The company is committed to providing customers with high-quality and reliable stainless steel products and becoming a leader in the industry.
