405 stainless steel tube

405 stainless steel is a low -chromium pure ferrite stainless steel. It adds aluminum to 410s to improve the resistance of the rigid oxidation, non -hardening steel, less cold processing, and have low chromium stainless steel. Cold formability is better than other iron stainless steel with high chromium.

  405 stainless steel tube application
Application Description
Automotive Exhaust Systems 405 stainless steel is commonly used for automotive exhaust systems due to its resistance to high-temperature oxidation and corrosion caused by exhaust gases.
Heat Exchangers Used in heat exchanger tubing for transferring heat between fluids in industrial processes, as it can withstand moderately elevated temperatures.
Furnace Components 405 stainless steel is suitable for furnace components like burner tubes and refractory anchors due to its resistance to high-temperature oxidation and scaling.
Industrial Heating Elements Often used in the manufacturing of industrial heating elements, such as electric heating coils and resistance wires, that operate at high temperatures.
Ductwork and Flue Gas Systems Applications in ductwork and flue gas systems in industrial settings where resistance to high-temperature corrosion and exhaust gases is crucial.
Catalytic Converter Shells Utilized in the production of catalytic converter shells for the automotive industry, where it provides heat and corrosion resistance.
Chemical Processing Equipment In some chemical processing applications that don't require high corrosion resistance, 405 stainless steel can be used due to its cost-effectiveness.
Petroleum Refining and Petrochemical Plants Used in equipment and piping systems in petroleum refining and petrochemical plants where resistance to high-temperature environments is needed.
