Stainless steel is generally the general term for stainless steel and acid-resistant steel. Stainless steel refers to steel that is resistant to corrosion by weak media such as atmosphere, steam, and water, while acid-resistant steel refers to steel that is resistant to corrosion by chemically corrosive media such as acids, alkali, and salt. Stainless steel was introduced at the beginning of this century and has a history of more than 90 years. The invention of stainless steel is a major achievement in the history of world metallurgy. The development of stainless steel has laid an important material and technological foundation for the development of modern industry and scientific and technological progress. There are many types of stainless steel with different properties. It has gradually formed several major categories in the development process. According to the organizational structure, it is divided into four categories: martensitic stainless steel (including precipitation hardened stainless steel), ferritic stainless steel, austenitic stainless steel and austenite plus ferrite duplex stainless steel; according to the main chemical composition or Classified by some characteristic elements in steel, it is divided into chromium stainless steel, chromium-nickel stainless steel, chromium-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel, low-carbon stainless steel, high-molybdenum stainless steel, high-purity stainless steel, etc.; according to the performance characteristics and uses of steel, it is divided into nitric acid-resistant stainless steel , sulfuric acid-resistant stainless steel, pitting corrosion-resistant stainless steel, stress corrosion-resistant stainless steel, high-strength stainless steel, etc.; according to the functional characteristics of steel, it is divided into low-temperature stainless steel, non-magnetic stainless steel, easy-cut stainless steel, superplastic stainless steel, etc. The currently commonly used classification methods are based on the structural characteristics of steel, the chemical composition characteristics of steel, and a combination of the two. Generally divided into martensitic stainless steel, ferritic stainless steel, austenitic stainless steel, duplex stainless steel and precipitation hardening stainless steel, or divided into two categories: chromium stainless steel and nickel stainless steel.
1.4021 stainless steel introduction:
It has excellent machinability in the annealed state, and the chip material of the annealed 420 material breaks well without producing any sawdust. This premium stainless steel material may withstand excessive floor hardness after a warm treatment. Grade 1.4021 metal (also known as ASTM420 and SS2303) is an over-tensile martensitic stainless steel with good corrosion properties. This metal is machineable and suitable for the production of special parts with good resistance to air, water vapor, fresh water, certain alkali metals and other moderately corrosive compounds.
Has useful resistance to dry atmosphere, fresh water, mild alkalis and acids, but has lower resistance than equivalent non-free processing grades. Corrosion resistance is lower than austenitic grades and furthermore lower than 17% chromium ferritic alloys such as Grade 430.
Not for use in marine or chloride environments. Metal is magnetic in its quenched and tempered state. Martensitic stainless steels can be thermomechanically processed to provide excellent mechanical properties - power, ductility and machinability - while maintaining adequate corrosion resistance. 2H13 is not resistant to chlorine, salt and intergranular corrosion.

1.Specific ranges of sulfur content in 4021 can provide specific performance improvements. For processability, it is recommended and allowed to control the sulfur content between 0.015% and 0.030%. For weldability, it is recommended and allowed to control the sulfur content between 0.008% and 0.030%. In order to improve polishability, it is recommended to control the sulfur content to a maximum of 0.015%.
