What is the difference between 201 stainless steel and 304 stainless steel?

What is the difference between 201 stainless steel and 304 stainless steel?

1. Mechanical properties: In terms of fatigue strength, 201 stainless steel has greater hardness, toughness, and fatigue resistance than 304 stainless steel.

2. Price: 304 stainless steel has better quality, but it is expensive. 201 stainless steel is of poorer quality but cheaper.

3. Color: 201 stainless steel contains high manganese, the surface is dark black, and it is easy to rust. 304 stainless steel contains more chromium, has a matte surface and is not easy to rust. The two stainless steel materials are compared together.

4. Anti-rust performance: Stainless steel is not easy to rust because the chromium-rich oxide formed on the surface of the steel can protect the steel body. In the same outdoor environment, 304 stainless steel will not rust for 3-4 years, and 201 stainless steel will rust after 6 months.

5. Chemical composition: The difference between 201 stainless steel and 304 stainless steel is nickel. The nickel content of the former is 3.5-5.5, and the nickel content of the latter is 8-11.
