Inconel alloy InInconel 725 (also known as Inconel 725) is a nickel-based high-temperature alloy with excellent corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength that is widely used in oil and gas extraction and processing processes. It is resistant to sulfide corrosion, acid gases and high temperature and pressure environments. Monel K-500 combines the excellent corrosion resistance of Monel 400 with the added benefits of greater strength and hardness. Performance can be improved by adding aluminum and titanium to the nickel-copper matrix and by heating under controlled conditions to cause submicroscopic particles of Ni3 (Ti, Al) to precipitate throughout the matrix. The heat treatment used to achieve precipitation is often called age hardening or aging.
