420 stainless steel, corresponding to the European standard EN 1.4031, also known as 1.4034, is a high-carbon martensitic stainless steel that can achieve extremely high hardness after proper heat treatment.
The heat treatment process of EN 1.4031 stainless steel coil includes:
Annealing: Heating temperature 800~900℃, air cooling or slow cooling, hardness HBW≤201, hardness HRB≤501
Quenching and tempering: Heating temperature 800~900℃, air cooling or slow cooling, hardness HRC 520-560.
420 stainless steel coil application areas:
Widely used in tools and equipment that require high hardness and wear resistance, such as surgical instruments (scalpels, scissors, etc.), cutting tools (drills, milling cutters, etc.), screwdrivers and other industrial blades.
