316Ti stainless steel pipe

316Ti is an austenitic stainless steel; it is a derivative of 316 stainless steel with titanium stability. Theoretically, 316Ti is type 316 and 321 is type 304. After heating in the temperature range of 425-815°C, titanium is added to 316 stainless steel to enhance the resistance to intergranular corrosion.

316Ti stainless steel is a stainless steel grade ideally suited for corrosive environments. The grade is written as 1.4571 or X6CrNiMoTi17-12-2 according to the EN specification and UNS S31635 according to the UNS specification. The 1.4571 material has better corrosion resistance than the 316L grade due to its titanium content. Titanium makes the 1.4571 stainless steel material more resistant to corrosion and also makes the material more resistant to friction. The 316Ti grade is indeed a good alternative to the 316 grade material and is generally considered a better grade than the 321 (1.4541) grade. In the Bircelik warehouse we only keep 100% European origin materials. The titanium in this grade is a very difficult element to melt, and if the titanium is not melted correctly and distributed evenly, the processability will be very low. The titanium element in the 316Ti material also makes this grade more suitable for high temperatures. 1.4571 is commonly used in the chemical industry, pump shafts, and shipbuilding industries.
