Grade 316LN stainless steel is an austenitic steel that is a low-carbon, nitrogen-strengthened version of Grade 316 steel. The nitrogen content in the steel provides solid solution hardening and increases its minimum specified yield strength. It also has good resistance to general corrosion and pitting/crevice corrosion.

316LN stainless steel is also called austenitic stainless steel. N is added to 316L steel to make it have the same characteristics as 316N.
