440A seamless piping

Type 440A is a corrosion-resistant martensitic stainless steel containing approximately 17% chromium that is heat treated to provide a wide range of mechanical properties. This grade offers the excellent wear resistance of high carbon steel and the corrosion resistance of stainless steel. Optimum corrosion and hardness are obtained in the quenched and tempered state. Type 440A is used in tableware applications and dental and surgical instruments and is magnetic in both annealed and heat treated conditions.

440A stainless steel is used to manufacture bearing parts that work in corrosive environments and non-lubricated strong oxidation. The steel also has good high-temperature dimensional stability and can be used to manufacture corrosion-resistant high-temperature bearings and cutting tools whose temperature does not exceed 250°C. 440A stainless steel bearing steel is a martensitic stainless steel with higher hardness than 420 steel. Its other properties are similar to 420 steel, but its weldability is poor. It is usually not used as a welding material and is used to manufacture surgical medical tools.
