416 stainless seamless pipe
Grade 416 steel is a free-machining stainless steel with a machinability of 85%, the highest of all stainless steels. For most free-machining stainless steels, cutting performance can be improved by adding sulfur, which causes the formation of manganese sulfide inclusions. Adding sulfur also reduces the formability, weldability and corrosion resistance of 416 steel below grade 410. Due to its high machinability and low cost, Grade 416 steel is available in highly tempered, hardened or unhardened forms.
The manufacturing method of high-hardness martensitic steel requires a final quenching and tempering process. These steels have lower corrosion resistance than austenitic steels. The decrease in ductility of martensitic steels at subzero temperatures and the decrease in strength due to excessive tempering at high temperatures are two key factors affecting their operating temperatures.
416 is the American standard ASTM executive standard steel number. It is an easy-cut stainless steel with better performance. This steel has an increased sulfur (S) content of more than 0.15%, making the material easy to turn. It is a martensitic stainless steel and can pass Heat treatment strengthens the performance, the strength and cutting processability are better than 304 and 316, and the friction coefficient is small. (For more special stainless steel, please follow me) Conventional products include hot-rolled wire (coiled), bar, forged round steel, plate, smooth round, hexagonal bar, etc. The length of the smooth circle is generally 2.5 meters, with bright surface and good straightness. It is easy to be turned by automatic lathe and improves production efficiency.
