Type 301L stainless steel (UNS S30103) is also an austenitic steel with a normal composition of 17% chromium and 7% nickel.

301L is slightly better at corrosion resistance because it has slightly less carbon. But 301L also has good ductility. But it's not as strong as 301.

It is ideal for a variety of jobs involving forming, stretching and welding. Like Grade 301, 301L is available in a variety of conditions, including full-hard, 1/2-hard, and 1/4-hard conditions. 301L is slightly inferior to 301 in terms of heat resistance and has a lower melting range. 301L steel becomes magnetic when cold worked, but like 301 steel, is non-magnetic when annealed.

1.4319 Application areas: Mainly used for equipment and components that bear higher loads in the cold working state and want to reduce the weight of the equipment and be rust-free, such as railway vehicles, conveyor belts, bolts, nuts, fasteners, etc.

In contrast, 304 contains low Ni, Cr and high C components, and can achieve high strength through cold working.

Compared with ordinary steel types, it has excellent high-temperature strength, fatigue strength and corrosion resistance, and is lightweight when used in trams.
