1.4462 Ferritic stainless steel seamless pipe

1.4462 duplex stainless steel is a grade with very good corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. The grade is written as 1.4462 or X2CrNiMoN22-5-3 according to EN specifications, and as UNS S31803 or S32205 according to UNS specifications. Some manufacturers may also name this 1.4462 material Temet, Aquashaft, Marinox, but in reality, all of these names equal 1.4462 duplex stainless steel.

 

1.4462 material has good cost performance. The name duplex stainless steel comes from the properties of this grade as this grade displays two different stainless steel grade phases which is why it is called duplex stainless steel. The 1.4462 material has properties from both the ferritic and austenitic stainless steel categories. 1.4462 material has better corrosion resistance than 316L and 316Ti. Additionally, the mechanical properties are 50% higher than most austenitic steel grades such as 304.
