Grade 430 stainless steel is a ferritic stainless steel grade and one of the most widely used stainless steel grades. This grade is written as 1.4016 or X6Cr17 according to EN specifications and UNS S43000 according to UNS specifications. 1.4016 stainless steel is a very widely used stainless steel grade and is suitable for corrosion-prone environments. If the environment is harsh and corrosive, the 430 material may rust. This grade is targeted for decorative luster and cost advantage in most applications. Therefore, corrosive environments are not suitable for this class. 430 stainless steel is mainly used in interior decoration, construction, and auto parts. The 430 material cannot be threatened by heat, and the 430 grade is different from the 431 grade. (430 and 431 are easily mixed) 430 stainless steel is usually used as plate or sheet, but at Bircelik Warehouse we only sell round steel of this grade. Therefore, you can find 430 (1.4016) material round bars from Bircelik stock. 430 stainless steel is used in decorative construction, automotive industry, washing machines, applications requiring smooth surfaces, household appliances and kitchenware. Especially in dishwashers and refrigerators, 430 premium material is often used as the main stainless steel grade due to its high polish surface performance and cost advantages.

Performance characteristics: 1.4016 stainless steel has the following performance characteristics:

Good corrosion resistance: suitable for atmosphere, water vapor and other media, especially in dilute HNO3.

Mechanical properties: Moderate tensile strength (450 MPa) and ductility (22%).

High thermal conductivity: The thermal conductivity is 26 w/(m.k), suitable for high temperature applications.

Good processability: easy to cut and process.

Low-temperature brittleness: The brittle transition temperature is above room temperature and is not suitable for manufacturing components of low-temperature load equipment.
