904L stainless steel is one of the stainless steel grades with the best corrosion resistance. The grade is written as 1.4539 or X1NiCrMoCu25-20-5 according to the EN specification and UNS S08904 according to the UNS specification. The 904L stainless steel grade contains very high levels of nickel, molybdenum, chromium and a combination of all these elements making this stainless steel grade very corrosion resistant. 904L material is one of the most corrosion-resistant materials in Bircelik warehouse. If this grade is not enough, then nickel alloy or titanium alloy must be chosen, because if 904L is not enough, other stainless steel grades will not survive. 904L also has very good anti-magnetic properties, which is another reason to use the 904L stainless steel grade for many applications. 1.4539 stainless steel has very low carbon content, which also increases the corrosion resistance level of this grade.

Characteristics: It is a highly alloyed austenitic stainless steel with very low carbon content. This steel is designed for use in environments with harsh corrosive conditions. The alloy was originally developed to resist corrosion in dilute sulfuric acid. This feature has been proven to be very successful in practical applications over many years. It is now standardized in many countries and has been approved for use in the manufacture of pressure vessels. Like other commonly used CrNi austenitic steels, the alloy has good resistance to pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion, high resistance to stress corrosion cracking, good resistance to intergranular corrosion, good processability and weldability. sex. During hot forging, the maximum heating temperature can reach 1180 degrees Celsius, and the minimum forging stop temperature is not less than 900 degrees Celsius. Hot forming of this steel can be performed at 1000--1150 degrees Celsius. The heat treatment process of this steel is 1100--1150 degrees Celsius, and it cools quickly after heating. Although this steel can be welded using general welding techniques, the most appropriate welding methods are manual arc welding and tungsten arc welding. When manual arc welding is used to weld plates not larger than 6 mm, the diameter of the electrode shall not be greater than 2.5 mm; when the plate thickness is greater than 6 mm, the diameter of the electrode shall be less than 3.2 mm. When heat treatment is required after welding, it can be heated at 1075-1125 degrees Celsius and then quickly cooled. When welding with tungsten arc welding, the filler metal can be made of the same material as the electrode, and the weld must be pickled and passivated after welding.
