1.4462 duplex stainless steel rod is a German brand duplex stainless steel composed of 21% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum and 4.5% nickel-nitrogen alloy. It is known for its high strength, good impact toughness and excellent stress corrosion resistance. Compared with austenitic stainless steel, 1.4462 duplex stainless steel has twice the yield strength, which allows designers to reduce weight in product designs, making it relatively more expensive than stainless steel alloys such as 316 and 317L. This alloy is particularly suitable for use in the -50°F/+600°F temperature range, but there are some limitations in applications outside this range, especially in welded structures.
Duplex stainless steel (1.4462 or 4462 stainless steel) is an extremely corrosion-resistant stainless steel grade. These quality 4462 stainless steels are more resistant to rust than 304 and 316 quality materials and are chemically both austenitic and ferritic stainless steels. They are harder than stainless steel and twice as resistant to austenitic materials. In our country, this stainless steel quality is also called "duplex stainless steel" (English name). 1.4462 Mepa metal is one of the most commonly used stainless steel materials in marine materials and yacht shafts, offering corrosion resistance and mechanical strength.
