UNS S30100 stainless steel

UNS S30100 is an austenitic stainless steel that can be cold worked to achieve high strength and ductility. It cannot be hardened by heat treatment. UNS S30100 is non-magnetic in the annealed state and becomes increasingly magnetic when cold worked. Superior to types 302 and 304 in the tempered condition because the higher length (achievable at a given strength level) facilitates manufacturing.
Type 301 SS has good corrosion resistance under atmospheric conditions, but has poor corrosion resistance in reducing media and chemical media such as acids, alkalis and salts, so it is not recommended for use in harsh corrosive environments. 301 steel is mainly used in the cold working condition to withstand higher loads, but there is also a desire to reduce the weight of equipment and corrosion-resistant parts.
