SMO 254 Stainless Steel Seamless Pipes

SMO 254 (UNS S31254/Werkstoff Nr. 1.4547) is a super austenitic stainless steel seamless pipe containing 6% molybdenum + nitrogen. It has a much better resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking than 316L. It is suitable for seawater, salt solutions and acidic media. It has passed NACE MR0175 certification and can resist sulfide stress corrosion in H₂S environment.
SMO 254 stainless steel pipe adopts seamless process to ensure uniform pipe wall and no welding defects. It adopts cold rolling/cold drawing process, with outer diameter tolerance of ±0.1mm, wall thickness uniformity of ±5%, and surface finish Ra≤0.8μm.

Q1: Can SMO 254 seamless pipe be welded?
A: TIG/MIG welding can be used. ERNiCrMo-3 welding wire is recommended. No heat treatment is required after welding.
Q2: Why is the price higher than 316L?
A: Because it contains 6% molybdenum + high nickel, the raw material cost is 2-3 times that of 316L, and it is suitable for extreme corrosive environments.
Q3: Does it support third-party testing?
A: Provide ultrasonic flaw detection (UT), eddy current testing (ET) and water pressure test reports to ensure that there are no defects.
