ASTM A249 Welded Stainless Steel Tube

ASTM A249 welded pipes are mainly austenitic stainless steel. Common grades include 304/304L, 316/316L, 321, 347, 310S, etc. They meet the corrosion resistance and high temperature performance requirements under different working conditions. They are welded by seamless welding (such as ERW resistance welding, TIG tungsten inert gas welding) or laser welding. Solution heat treatment (Solution Annealing) is required after welding to eliminate stress and restore material ductility and corrosion resistance.

Q.What is the ASTM equivalent standard for 304 stainless steel?
A.The 304 stainless steel plate grade has good welding characteristics and does not usually require post-weld annealing to restore properties. 304 SS plate has excellent corrosion resistance in a variety of different media. Typical specifications for 304 and 304L ss plates are ASTM A-240, ASME SA -240, and A666.
